‘Not All Men Are Like That’ is something that we hear extremely often on this planet. An excuse for awful male behavior by other men who don’t want to be lumped into the same category.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand how frustrating it can be to be stuck into a generalization about your own gender but the excuse ‘not all men are like that’ is frustratingly pitiful.

Male rapists, murderers, misogynists and so many more things are all excused by other men by saying not all men are like that and whilst this is a true enough statement, it doesn’t ignore the fact that men aren’t doing anything to stop the behavior. Instead of shunning these men they stick up for themselves by saying not all men are like that.
